A Residential Construction Framing Technician is a person who constructs the "frame" or supporting structure of single and multi-family the buildings, encloses the building, and installs the windows and doors to the "lock-up" stage. The framer is responsible for the wooden and/or steel structure from the sill plate on the foundation to the installation of the roof trusses and/or rafters. The structure includes floor platforms, with supporting joists and blocking, interior and exterior walls and sheathing, openings for windows and doors with structural support headers in bearing walls, interior and exterior stairs.
