"Industrial Electrician" means a person who inspects, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and services industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. Service includes calibration and preventive/predictive maintenance. Industrial electricians are employed by maintenance departments of plants, mines, smelters, oil and gas rigs as well as platforms, mills, shipyards, factories and other industrial establishments. Some are employed by electrical contractors. Electricians work in a wide variety of buildings and facilities - on everything from lighting and climate control systems, to communication equipment and thousands of other specific tools and devices. An Electrician's work involves assembling, installing, commissioning, testing, maintaining, servicing and operating electrical systems and equipment.
