NOTE:
Prospective Trades/Apprentices
You become an apprentice by finding an employer to sponsor you & registering the apprenticeship with the ITA. If you are in high school you can also start your apprenticeship through a youth (ACE-IT) program. Also consider a foundation program as a means of gaining Level 1 experience for most trades (and entering the workplace).

These programs tend to lead to a Diploma of Technology. They are typically longer in duration and a blend between academic and practical skills. They provide expertise that goes further than foundational training. Each educational provider offers a range of this programming depending on their region and mandate. Click on a technical trade to view locations and schedules of the program of interest. Schedules are shown for intakes that start out to March 31 2012. Not all the programs listed here are governed by the ITA so please contact the trainer for further details regarding the program of choice.
