A Mobile Crane Operator (Hydraulic, 80 Tonnes and Under) operates a mobile crane to perform lifts and hoists, and also sets up cranes, takes down cranes and plans lifts and crane procedures. People in this occupation work for construction, industrial, mining, cargo handling and railway companies and contractors. They should possess good concentration and stamina since they may be required to work at heights and spend extended periods inside the cab of their crane.

Crane Operators enjoy technology and mechanics, must have good eyesight and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Grade 12 or equivalent education is recommended.
The Apprenticeship Program comprises Levels 1 and 2 of progressive technical training, with each Level taking 3-4 weeks (90-120 hours) to complete.
