Construction Craft Worker
A Construction Craft Worker (Labourer) works mostly on construction sites in residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial settings, including those involving pipelines, utilities, hydroelectric dams, roadways, bridges, tunnels, shipyards, mining and railways.
Tasks include site preparation and cleanup, setting up and removing access equipment, and assisting on concrete, masonry, steel, wood and pre-cast erection projects. They handle materials and equipment and perform demolition, excavation and compaction activities. They may also perform site safety and security checks.
Construction Craft Worker is BC’s 48th nationally designated trade under the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program.

Recommendations
Education recommendation: Grade 10 or equivalent, including English 10, Math 10, and Science 10.
The Apprenticeship Program comprises Levels 1 and 2 of progressive technical training, with each Level taking 4 weeks (120 hours) to complete. In addition, apprentices are required to accumulate 4,000 hours of work-based training. Refer to SkilledTradesBC for full details.
