Sprinkler Fitter

Sprinkler Fitters (formerly "Sprinkler System Installers") install and repair fire-protection sprinkler systems in a variety of buildings and settings. They work with piping, tubing, accessories and connections. They test sprinkler and fire protection systems for leaks with air or liquid pressure. They may also install exterior fire protection services, which require an understanding of system and installation drawings and specifications. Sprinkler Fitters must be able to work with automatic, deluge or open sprinklers, plus foam, fog and carbon dioxide systems, wet or dry standpipes, inside hose pipe systems, private fire hydrant systems, and fire pumps and related equipment.

Sprinkler Fitter is a nationally designated trade under the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program.
