Residential Building Maintenance Worker
A Residential Building Maintenance Worker is a "Jack of all Trades" who maintains and repairs residential buildings (single-family unit, multi-unit, high rise) including minor carpentry, drywall, electrical, floor-laying, painting, plumbing, refrigeration mechanic and roofing repairs, maintenance, installation, inspection, testing and troubleshooting (as per Technical Safety BC legislation and regulations).

Recommendations
The following education is recommended: Grade 10 or equivalent, including English 10 and Math 10.
The Apprenticeship Program is comprised of Levels 1-to-3 of progressive technical training, with each Level taking 8 weeks (240 hours) to complete.
In addition, apprentices are required to accumulate 4,500 hours of work-based training. Refer to SkilledTradesBC for full details.
